Unity nurses

Year: 2024
Service(s): Brand Strategy, Logo Design,UI design & Visual Identity

Unity Nurses was born out of frustration with the lack of support for immigrant nurses in the UK. These professionals leave their countries to care for others, yet face isolation, cultural barriers, and mental health challenges with little help from the system.

Unity Nurses is more than just an app, it’s a support network, a cultural bridge, and a wellness companion. It offers mental health resources, peer connection, and integration tools designed specifically for immigrant nurses.

Because when we care for the caregivers, everyone benefits, and it’s time they felt at home, both in the workplace and in the world around them.

The Concept

For Unity Nurses, I wanted the brand to feel warm, friendly, and approachable , a comforting space for immigrant nurses navigating a new country. The logo uses rounded shapes to reflect softness and unity, while the warm colour palette brings a sense of care and calm.

The overlapping forms in the mark symbolize connection and shared experience, key values of the brand. It’s a visual identity that feels supportive, human, and grounded , just like the nurses it’s built for.

Typography & Colour Palette

The primary typeface chosen for Unity Nurses is Inter Tight, a strong, modern, and highly legible font that brings both clarity and confidence to the brand. What makes Inter Tight so effective is its flexibility; it’s clean and professional enough to build trust in a healthcare setting, yet still warm and human when used in softer contexts like app interfaces or community messages.

The main colour, Unity Blue, is a bright, vibrant shade that instantly feels familiar in the healthcare space. It communicates trust, care, and reassurance, while also feeling modern and energetic. Supporting tones were selected to complement this, warm neutrals and soft accent colours that add a sense of balance, comfort, and inclusivity to the overall palette. Together, the typography and colour choices create a brand that feels reliable, supportive, and emotionally grounded, just like the community it’s built to serve.
