Kitu Cases was born out of frustration with the dull, generic phone case designs flooding the market. For millennials and nostalgia lovers, phone cases should be more than just protection, they should tell a story, spark a memory, and feel personal.

Kitu Cases is more than just an accessory. It's a time machine for your pocket, bringing back the retro but making it aesthetic. With playful illustrations and designs inspired by childhood joy, early tech, and pop culture moments, each case reconnects you with the good times you miss.

Because self expression shouldn't stop at your phone, and everyone deserves a little nostalgia in their hands.

The Concept

For Kitu Cases, I wanted the brand to feel nostalgic, bold, and full of personality—something that instantly connects with millennials and lovers of all things retro. The logo leans into this theme with a playful 3D stroke and strong, vibrant colours, echoing vintage aesthetics while still feeling fresh and modern.

The design was created to be versatile and memorable, working seamlessly across phone cases, hats, totes, and other merchandise. It's a visual identity that brings joy, sparks memories, and invites self-expression—just like the designs it represents.

Typography & Colour Palette

The primary typeface for Kitu Cases is Magiel Black, a bold, retro-inspired font that brings drama, playfulness, and personality to the brand. It captures the nostalgic energy at the heart of Kitu, while making a strong visual impact across all brand touchpoints.

To support it, Futura was chosen as a secondary font, a classic with its own retro roots. Clean, geometric, and highly legible, it works perfectly for body text and balances the expressive nature of the display type.

The colour palette is a vibrant mix of classic red, green, blue, and a bright, golden yellow, tones that feel instantly nostalgic yet bold enough to stand out in today's market. Together, the typography and colours create a brand that's expressive, energetic, and full of retro charm, just like the memories it's built to celebrate.
